What Missions means to us.
While we gather every Sunday to acknowledge and celebrate God’s goodness, this gathering is not our sole purpose as a church. We take seriously God’s call to see to the needs of others. We delight in welcoming and supporting others, in cultivating relationships that seek the wellbeing of others, and in undertaking efforts that benefit the lives of others.
Craft Ministries:
Fellowship, Crafting, Blessing Others
Craft Ministries is a gathering of folks with varied interests and skills who come together to support and encourage each other while working on projects, learning and teaching new skills, creating gifts to be shared far and wide.
This ministry welcomes any who are interested into a supportive group of people who share their expertise, their encouragement and their joy in making baby blankets and prayer shawls as blessed gifts to those celebrating new babies and those who are facing difficulties. Hats and mittens are given to those who are homeless and there’s always room for fun seasonal and individual projects.
Where: Mooberry Room
When: 12:30 every Wednesday
Family Promise:
In Support of the Houseless
Cornelius distributes Blessing Bags to people living on the street. These large bags include food items that don’t need to be cooked and are easy to open (without using a can opener), they include personal care items and a pair of socks.
In addition to this direct assistance, Cornelius supports Family Promise, a community organization assisting families facing houselessness. While we supported this ministry as hosting volunteers for many years, with the new hosting accommodations Family Promise has created (which we applaud), we continue to support this essential organization with financial contributions. Contributions we receive designated for Family Promise are forwarded in full.
Turquoise Table:
Free Treats & Friendship
Turquoise Table is a ministry of hospitality and friendship. Twice a month we offer a time for conversation and free refreshments to our neighboring friends and those coming to the Community Table Food Pantry in an effort to build meaningful relationships.
